Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Andrea Bocelli, one of the world's most celebrated tenors, is set to perform in Manila in April.

Bocelli's concert on April 26, part of his latest world tour, will be in support of Cinema, his latest album.

Bocelli's last visit to the country was in 2004, when he performed at the Araneta Coliseum along with a 90-piece, all-Filipino orchestra.

Bocelli began singing in the late 1980s but it wasn't until 1993 that he signed a recording contract. To date, he has performed with some of the most notable names in the music industry, among them Luciano Pavarotti, Sarah Brightman, and Celine Dion.

His latest album will feature pieces from classic cinema soundtracks along with arias and duets from legendary operas and other classical pieces.

Bocelli said, "With the album, Cinema, I’m fulfilling a wish that I’ve harbored for decades. I’ve never made a secret of my dream of bringing to life a recording project associated with soundtracks, as I truly believe that it’s an exceptional artistic treasure trove."
