MMFF Spokesperson Noel Ferrer said "Sunday Beauty Queen" — which was previously in the last spot — has been doing well in theaters since it was awarded the MMFF Best Picture award on December 29.

Showing of 'Oro' still suspended

Ferrer said "Oro" is no longer being shown in cinemas, as film producers have yet to submit a revised cut or a version of the film without the controversial dog slaughter scene.

While the film fest has had many controversies over the years, he said organizers are glad the issue is not focused on celebrities. He added the discussions are on subject matter, principles, and animal rights.
