Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) - Twelve-year-old Filipina singer Elha Nympha is hoping her international career will take off after she makes her US debut on a show hosted by Steve Harvey.

Elha will be featured on the second season of the hit talent show "Little Big Shots" that will start airing on March 6. She flew to Los Angeles with her mother for the program.

"Masaya po kasi kala ko po walang chance na makapunta sa ibang bansa pero meron po palang dumarating na blessings na katulad nito, Talagang sobrang saya ko po kasi parang unti-unti ko na pong naa-achieve yung dreams ko," Elha said.

(Translation: "I'm happy because at first I thought there was no chance I could fly abroad, but sometimes blessings like this can come. I'm really happy because I'm slowly inching my way towards my dreams.")

The young singer started off as a banana-cue vendor to help her mother earn a living after her father passed away in December 2014.

Elha auditioned twice for reality singing competition The Voice Kids Philippines. She did not make the cut on her first attempt, but she tried again and eventually rose as the grand champion of the show's second season in 2015.

This year, she is also one of the contestants of kiddie impersonation show Your Face Sounds Familiar, where her impersonations of Chaka Khan, Thalia and Beyonce landed her an overall second place in the show's remaining weeks.

Meeting Steve Harvey

In the teaser of the show previewed by the media, Harvey was left impressed after Elha sang her version of "Chandelier."

The young singer says she had mixed emotions meeting Harvey.

"Okay naman po yung pag-uusap namin tapos nag-uusap naman kami sa backstage and tinatanong niya kung 'kilala daw ba ako sa Philippines.' Sabi ko po kilalang-kilala po siya," Elha added.

(Translation: "Our conversation was okay, and we talked backstage. He asked me if he was famous in the Philippines, and I told him he's very famous.")

The American host was known for mistakenly announcing Miss Colombia as the winner of the Miss Universe 2015 pageant instead of the real winner--Philippines' Pia Wurtzbach.

Given the chance to share the stage with an international singer, Elha says she would like to have a duet with Mariah Carey, Beyonce or Lady Gaga.

CNN Philippines' Digital Producer Chad de Guzman contributed to this report.
