Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 24) — Video blogger and former reality show contestant Wil Dasovich revealed on Thursday that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

In an 11-minute video, Dasovich gave his fans some inspirational words before disclosing his health condition.

"If there's one thing I want you to take away from this video, it's to experience as much as possible," he said.

He also thanked his fans and all the Filipinos he has encountered throughout his journey.

"This was the ultimate reason I chose to stay in the Philippines: the never ending smiles, the continuous laughter, overwhelming hospitality, the resilience to stay positive no matter the situation," Dasovich said.

The Filipino-American model and actor also expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he had with his videos.

"Having an audience that will listen to me, be open to my ideas, and hear me out is something I'm deeply grateful for and will never take for granted," Dasovich said.

He did not disclose the type of cancer he was diagnosed with.

The 25-year-old Internet star went back to his hometown in San Francisco, California earlier in August to undergo medical treatment.

Dasovich had earlier posted about his illness through previous videos, prior to his diagnosis.

Dasovich rose to popularity in 2015 through his entertaining YouTube videos showcasing him and his father learning the Filipino language and the gay lingo.

Despite his health condition, however, the former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate said he is content with the way he lived his life.

"Are you satisfied with the way you've lived your life and have you maximized your experiences? My answer to that question is yes. And that's why I'm content with my condition and the hardships I face," Dasovich said.
