Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 27) — Various cosplayers, or costume players, showed off their skills and craftsmanship at the AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2017 Sunday.

CP Coulter, a 23-year-old writer, came to the event as the girl of steel, Supergirl.

Ten-year-old Emilio Ramon Mendoza, meanwhile, flaunted a look as Star-Lord from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise.

Zedd Legaspi, 24, and James Fabros, 25, portrayed Marvel superheroes Spider-Man and Captain America, respectively.

Departing from Western characters, CJ Rodriguez, 23, came in as Akira from the anime Persona 5.

The AsiaPOP Comicon Manila, an annual convention held since 2015, promotes various art and media forms through the engagement of fans and artists.

The three-day event is held at the SMX Convention Center.

Other cosplayers included artists who portrayed Peggy Carter, and several other characters from Marvel, DC, and anime shows.
