Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 10) — Actress Sharon Cuneta is not letting politics get in the way of preserving good relationships.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, the actress, who is married to Liberal Party President Sen. Francis Pangilinan, shared a video of a message from President Rodrigo Duterte, complete with a gushing caption.

“Wow. Thank you very much, Mr. President, Sir, my 'Tatay Digong!!!'” she said. “All politics aside and with all due respect to my husband who so understands my ‘wala akong pakialam sa politika’ [I don't care about politics] stand, I got this precious gift of a message (taken a few evenings ago) from President Rodrigo Duterte himself!!!”

The 48-second video, which has been liked more than 7,700 times, shows Duterte greeting the actress. He said she was his good friend, and added his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte was her “avid" supporter.

“My daughter Sara eh talagang iniidolize ka hanggang ngayon [really idolizes you until now]. I’m happy that she has chosen the right person to be the inspiration,”  Duterte said.

“May you live for a thousand years,” he added.

Cuneta, meanwhile, gushed over the President's message. “So sorry am not sorry but in fact, am thrilled!” she said.

Despite her husband being part of the opposition Liberal Party, Cuneta said she and Davao City Mayor Sara have been friends since 2012.

The megastar said she is blessed that she and the Mayor are “sincere and thoughtful enough” to separate politics from their friendship.

She added, she hopes Duterte will be guided by God into making the Philippines “great.”

“God bless you po. May our Father in heaven guide you and lead you only to what will make our country great. (Thank you Kiko for your understanding and respect for me as your very apolitical/unpolitical wife.)” she said.

She even floated the idea of performing her song, “Ikaw,” for the President. Duterte has been known to sing the popular love song on several events and gatherings.

“One day, I shall sing your favorite 'Ikaw' for you!” she said.
