Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 25) — Pop diva Mariah Carey is all praises for a Filipino duo's cover of one of her most iconic songs, "Hero."

The 2014 cover of music duo Aldrich Talonding and James Bucong was included in the latest video of Glamour Magazine's "You Sang My Song" Youtube series.

Carey said she was impressed by the amazing vocals and she loved the twists they put into their rendition of the song.

The cousins from General Santos city shared their excitement with CNN Philippines after hearing the singer's comments.

"Akala ko n'ung una clickbait video lang siya. So noong pinanood ko 'yung video, nag-sink in lang sa akin na totoo 'yung reaction kasi Miss Mariah Carey herself mentioned our names <I thought it was a clickbait video at first. The moment only started to sink in when Miss Mariah Carey mentioned our names," Talonding said.

The five-time Grammy winner also reflected on the success of her hit song "Hero," saying that it is special to see people of different ages and from different places in the world sing the song.

This is not the first time the duo gained praise from international personalities. In 2013, their cover of "Dance with My Father" went viral, leading to their appearance on the U.S. talk show "Ellen."
