Brian Velasco, drummer of Filipino rock band Razorback, has passed away Wednesday.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 16) — Brian Velasco, drummer of Filipino rock band Razorback, has passed away Wednesday. He was 41.

The Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section confirmed that Velasco died by suicide. The MPD said the musician's body was found at his residence in Malate, Manila at 9:45 a.m. His body was brought to the Paz Funeral Homes in Parañaque City, it added.

Velasco streamed the act on Facebook. A video of which circulated online, but has been taken down already.

Velasco, based on his Facebook account, joined Razorback in 1996.

Razorback took to social media to express its grief over the passing of its member.

 

"Today we lost our brother and our hearts are broken. [We] love you and we will always miss [you,] Bri," the band said in a post on Instagram.

Velasco's family has yet to issue a statement.
