Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 19) — Boo, the World's Cutest Dog, might now be the world's cutest angel.

Boo the Pomeranian bade farewell to his millions of social media followers on January 19, having died in his sleep.

The "humans" of the twelve-year old internet star announced on Facebook that the dog died of heart issues, which manifested after his fellow Pomeranian Buddy died late 2017.

"Our family is heartbroken, but we find comfort knowing that he is no longer in any pain or discomfort. We know that Buddy was the first to greet him on the other side of that rainbow bridge, and this is likely the most excited either of them have been in a long time," Boo's owners said on Facebook.

Thousands of condolences poured in from netizens, who always found their days brightened by the pup's presence.

"Since starting Boo’s FB page, I’ve received so many notes over the years from people sharing stories of how Boo brightened their days and helped bring a little light to their lives during difficult times. And that was really the purpose of all this...Boo brought joy to people all over the world," his owners said.

Boo was born on March 16, 2006. He loved running outside, following his fellow dogs around, and squeaky toys.

His favorite color is pink and he enjoyed wearing shirts.
