Get to know the artists behind Shotgun Combo, what the band’s journey has been since they started, and how Red Horse Beer Muziklaban has supported their distinct type of music.

Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — With influences ranging from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Francis M, Shotgun Combo’s eclectic mix of music may be the most striking feature that sets them apart from other local rock bands. “May kulit, may angst, may funk,” describes Cris Genato, lead vocalist of the band, of their own blend of music. Completing the band hailing from Quezon City are Brian Carlo Sta. Ana (guitar), Johnson Espadilla (bass), and Polo Auxtero (drums).

The four of them joined Red Horse Beer’s Muziklaban 2017, performed in front of a roaring crowd, and eventually emerged as the winner. “We didn’t expect to win. Nung tinawag ang pangalan namin, tumalon-talon na kaming lahat at sumigaw na kami at the top of our lungs,” says Genato.
