Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — Crowds gathered in wonder and merriment as the atrium at the SM City North EDSA The Block was filled with food stalls, Christmas decors, and joyous tunes to reveal the Tsum-tacular Christmas village, a setup that could make kids and kids at heart alike feel as if they’re part of a Disney movie.

Guests were greeted by an extraordinary performance of the Christmas classic “Do You Hear What I Hear?” by students from the Philippine School for the Deaf, through sign language, wearing white gloves and reindeer headbands.

Disney Philippines country manager Veronica Cabalinan said in her opening remarks that they continue to partner with SM to make the Disney brand closer to Filipinos. “Through our collaboration with SM, we share a similar vision of delivering exceptional consumer experience and value. We continue to experience these magical moments based on the Disney legacy of rich story-telling.”

SM Supermalls senior vice president Steven Tan also shared with the audience the many new and exciting events and activities that SM malls have in store for customers this Christmas season.

This partnership with Disney is a sure delight not only for children, but also for fans of Disney products, like Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar. As if the festive feeling was not enough to keep the occasion’s spirits high, Mickey and Minnie Mouse appeared onstage, dancing and prancing, all the more fueling the crowd’s cheer and amazement.

The LED backdrop of the stage then turned into a ‘magic portal’ where the audience was invited to open by pointing glow sticks towards the LED screen. Through a visual animation, this ‘magic portal’ was unlocked, revealing the Tsum-tacular Christmas village, with LED-lit ballerinas ushering the people towards the “winter town.”

Right smack in the middle of the village is a 45-foot Christmas display made of larger-than-life Tsum Tsum characters (which are collectible stuffed toys that are based on Pixar and Disney characters). All over the village are snowmen, trains, pine trees, and even a clock tower, making it all seem like a proper town with the people visiting the display instantly looking like actual villagers.

The launch in SM City North EDSA leads SM malls nationwide in celebrating SM’s magical holiday season with themes of best-loved Disney stories: Mickey Mouse and Friends, Disney Princess, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, Cars, and Sofia the First.
