Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — This weekend, start the new year with a bang: visit a newly reopened gallery, watch bands and have your fortune predicted in a gig, check out a new breed of artists in a multimedia spectacle, relax and let loose in a pajama party-slash-open jam, start a new exercise routine by joining a fun run, and get your geek on at a quiz night.

Silverlens, one of the top galleries in the country, has recently reopened in a bigger and better space a few doors from its original location. To celebrate, the gallery will be having its inaugural show featuring new work by 21 artists from its roster, including Martha Atienza, Ryan Villamael, Pio Abad, Gabriel Barredo, and Frank Callaghan, among other distinguished artists. Curated by Gary-Ross Pastrana, the exhibit will be on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 6 p.m. in the new Silverlens Galleries at 2263 Chino Roces Ave Ext., Makati.

Uni-verses is a multimedia performance that tackles and introspects the broad and intimate concept of the individual and the relative “you” within that perspective. The act will showcase a collection of pieces by young artists in different formats, such as film, theater, video art, photography, spoken word poetry, radio drama, live music, and other mixed media. The first run will be on Friday, Jan. 6, and the second on Saturday, Jan. 7, both at 8 p.m, at Pineapple Lab, 6071, R. Palma St., Poblacion, Makati. Attraction! Reaction! presents: Good Night, and Good Luck

It’s Attraction! Reaction!’s ninth anniversary this weekend and they’re celebrating with indie acts Oh, Flamingo!, The Purplechickens, Ang Bandang Shirley, Outerhope, Teenage Granny, and Taken by Cars. Come in early to have your fortune predicted for this new year through the event’s free tarot card reading for early birds. The show will be on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 9 p.m. at Route 196, Katipunan Ext., Quezon City. Entrance is at ₱250 with a free drink.

The Pineapple Jam v.6: Pajama Jam

The team behind Pineapple Lab encourages their neighbors to decompress from the holiday craze by joining their Pajama Jam, an open-mic and jam session. Spiked cocoa and Irish coffee will be sold, and guests are encouraged to wear pajamas and bring blankets and pillows. The event is free and open to all on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. at  Pineapple Lab, 6071, R. Palma St., Poblacion, Makati. Color Manila Run Year 5

If you’re looking to get more fit this year as part of your New Year’s resolutions, start with a marathon by joining the Color Manila fun run. Race for 3 km, 5 km, or 10 km (for ₱950 for a Deluxe Race Kit or ₱1,500 for a Rockstar Race Kit), all up to 21 km (₱1,700). Geek out on pop culture by joining GeekFight! Trivia Night’s pub quiz night about musicals, TV themes, video game music, covers, bands, and more. This weekend will be the launch of GeekFight’s new annual league system, wherein the participating teams’ scores will be tracked across all the games, which are held monthly, with opportunities to win different prizes.
