Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — This weekend, celebrate Batman Day with comic fans, attend a forum on human rights, help an electro-funk trio fund their album, join K-pop dance classes, taste different kinds of wine at a wine fair, participate in a wellness project, and be part of an indie rock band’s album launch.

Batman Day 2017

Fully Booked celebrates this year’s Batman Day on Sept. 30, not only for the Caped Crusader, but also for the Clown Princess of Crime, Harley Quinn, having been part of “Batman: The Animated Series” in 1992. The festivities will include free special edition DC comic books to be given away starting 10 a.m.

Participating branches are Bonifacio High Street, Alabang Town Center, Power Plant Mall, S Maison, Greenhills, Greenbelt 5, Glorietta, Eastwood, Venice Piazza, SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, SM North EDSA, Century City Mall, Ayala Malls the 30th, UP Town Center, Katipunan, Trinoma, Vertis North, and Taft. There will also be a special comic corner at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street, where signed copies by comic writers Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Tom King, and more will be available.

Human Rights in the Philippines: Prospects and Challenges

The Ateneo de Manila University’s Political Science Department is holding a forum with Commission of Human Rights Chair Chito Gascon on Friday, Sept. 29, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Leong Hall, Ateneo. The event is free for the public, as the forum aims to “reinvent, popularize, simplify, and bring the discourse of human rights closer to the ordinary Filipino.”

The Crowdfunding Sessions

Help electro-funk trio Tandems ‘91 launch their first album by joining The Polaris Project’s sixth installment of their crowdfunding sessions on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Dulo, 4992 P. Guanzon St., Poblacion, Makati. The trio includes Aaron Cruz on vocals, JR Jader on percussions, and Ignacio “Nacho” Cuyegkeng on keys. K-pop Dance Classes

Dasuri Choi, also known as the Philippines’ “K-pop Dance Diva,” is leading a K-pop dance workshop on Sunday, Oct. 1 at Queen’s Dance Studio. Two classes for beginners will be conducted, from noon to 3:30 p.m., which will cover two dance routines: Black Pink’s “As If It’s Your Last” and Exo’s “Power.” From 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., advanced classes for those who want a more in-depth training will be provided, covering also two dance routines: GFriend’s “Love Whisperer” and Bts’ “DNA.”

3-day Wine Fair

Starting Sept. 29 until Oct. 1, Marketplace by Rustan’s will be holding a three-day wine festival in Shangri-La Plaza, where 100 bottles of wine from Spain, Australia, France, and Argentina will be made available for tasting. The bottles will also be for sale at special prices, and fair goers may sign up for wine classes as well.

Global Mala Manila 2017

The Global Mala Project, an initiative that unites yoga, service, and collective action, is celebrating its 10th year of bringing yoga communities together on Oct. 1 at The Blue Leaf Events Pavilion, 100 Park Avenue, McKinley Hill Village, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. The celebration will be a full day — 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. — of yoga, dance, music, food, and talks.

The speakers and panelists range from local personalities like Iza Calzado who will talk about body positivity and Hindy Weber-Tantoco who will talk about how to practice healthy eating, to women entrepreneurs like Hannah Theisen who will discuss sustainable fashion and Alex Eduque who will talk about making a living while pursuing her passion for philanthropy. She’s Only Sixteen album launch

Indie rock band She’s Only Sixteen is finally releasing their debut album, “Whatever That Was,” on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Black Market. The album launch will include performances from other indie rock bands like Cheats, Rusty Machines, and Oh, Flamingo!, and DJ sets by Pillowtalk, Someguy, and Jess Milner.
