Back to Basics: A Drawing and Art Appreciation Workshop Inspired by National Artist Fernando Amorsolo

This weekend, the Yuchengco Museum is holding two events in honor of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo. The first is a seminar examining the life and works of the artist, with a pragmatic series of lessons in art production and art history to encourage a deeper understanding of the early years of Philippine art, while teaching drawing techniques at the same time.

The three-part lesson aims to equip its students with drawing skills and techniques and, using Amorsolo as an inspiration, teach them to unpack meanings of selected masterpieces and analyze the artist’s concept and create their own drawings.

The workshop, facilitated by Avie Felix and Oliver Ramos, starts this Saturday, March 10, with parts two and three happening on March 17 and 24, from 2 to 5:30 p.m.

The Yuchengco Museum is located at RCBC Plaza cor. Ayala and Sen. Gil J. Puyat Ave., Makati City. For workshop prices and reservations, contact info@yuchengcomuseum.org or (+632) 889-1234.
