This Saturday, enjoy performances by local indie acts Ang Bandang Shirley, Asch, Lions and Acrobats, Munimuni, Oh, Flamingo!, Rusty Machines, Kartell’em, and Waiian at Route 196. Guests can also expect to hear announcements on a special show with Singapore acts and the annual year-end gig. Door charge is ₱250 for those arriving before 9 p.m. and ₱300 from 9 onwards.

Seeing vs Believing | Filmic Responses to Oplan Tokhang

As part of the exhibit “What We Talk About When We Talk About the ‘War On Drugs’” on view at George SK Ty Learning Innovation Wing, Areté, a two-hour screening will be held this Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., featuring four short films and two documentaries in progress that are “shaped in the context of the current administration’s anti-drug operations.” Attendees can also expect a Q&A after the screening, which will be moderated by Respond and Break the Silence On the Killings (RESBAK) Artists Alliance convenor Kiri Dalena, and the exhibition’s curator Karl Castro.

Saturday X Future Market

This Saturday, get ready to roll up your sleeves and dig into piles of vintage and second-hand finds at the HUB: Make Lab. "Ang Panahon ng Halimaw" at Cinema Centenario

Lav Diaz’s latest film, described as an “anti-musical musical rock opera,” follows a young couple (played by Piolo Pascual and Shaina Magdayao) who move to a town haunted by a man with two faces. This Saturday, audiences can catch the film at a 1 p.m. screening at Cinema Centenario. Tickets cost ₱400.

COSA Workshop Exclusive: Mark Redito's Creative Tips & Tricks

Beatmakers and producers interested in honing their craft can join a workshop this Saturday, July 14, hosted by DJ Mark Redito (FKA Spazzkid), the electronic artist from LA who is known for his hyper dance and J-pop inspired bangers. His talk will cover production, creative workflow, and productivity techniques, among others.

The workshop will be held in two batches, one from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and another from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Registration fee is ₱300. Slots are limited.
