Campaign Trail: March 30

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Here's the latest from the campaign trail on Wednesday (March 30).

Survey frontrunner Sen. Grace Poe is back in Pangasinan for the sixth time with running mate Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero. On the sidelines of their campaign, the two continue to deny reports some of their supporters are forging strategic alliances with other candidates to ensure winnability.

Administration bets Manuel "Mar" Roxas and Rep. Leni Robredo were out and about in Metro Manila on Wednesday. Thousands gathered at the Bonifacio Monument to witness the rally of local candidates in Caloocan City, a stronghold of Rep. Edgar Erice, the Liberal Party spokesman. Roxas and Robredo, along with President Benigno Aquino III, joined the event.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte barnstormed Catanauan and Tayabas in Quezon with his running mate Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano. There, the tandem promised to resolve the issue of the multi-billion peso coco levy fund within their first 100 days in office. That, as coconut farmers are still fighting for their share in the fund's investments.

Opposition bet Vice President Jejomar Binay campaigned alone in Leyte on Wednesday as his running mate, Sen. Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan had meetings in Manila.
