Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Three places in the Philippines made it to Conde Nast Traveler's 20 Best Islands in the World list.

The list, decided upon by the travel magazine's readers, was published on Tuesday (October 20), and covered places "from nearby Caribbean beaches to far-flung islands in Southeast Asia."

According to the Conde Nast Traveler website, more than 128,000 travelers participated in the annual survey — now in its 28th year. Given the participants' comments and ratings, a list of the best hotels, islands, resorts, and cities was compiled.

In the list, three are from the Philippines: Cebu (19th), Boracay (15th), and Palawan (1st).

Based on the readers' votes, the world's top 10 islands are:
