Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 4) — Statuesque beauty Laura Lehmann is now Miss World Philippines 2017.

Lehmann was crowned Sunday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

She bested 35 candidates and will compete in the Miss World Pageant in China on November 18.

Prior to being Miss World, Lehmann also finished first runner-up in the Binbining Pilipinas 2014 pageant, and was a former University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) courtside reporter for Ateneo.

Other winners of the night include Teresita Ssen "Winwyn" Marquez who was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017, Cynthia Tomalla who won Miss Eco Philippines 2017, and Sophia Senoron who bagged Miss Multinational Philippines 2017.

Glyssa Perez was named First Princess, while candidate Zara Carbonell was Second Princess.

Miss World Philippines is a member of the Miss World Organization, which is based in London. Some 124 candidates from around the globe are expected to compete in the Miss World 2017 pageant in November.
