Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 15) — Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Katarina Rodriguez wants a shot at the pageant's finals.

Rodriguez announced on Instagram on Sunday that the winner of the pageant's "Miss Sunrise Resorts 2017" online poll automatically gets into the Top 6 of Miss Intercontinental 2017.

She appealed for support from the public.

"You have the option of voting once a day. However, you must vote three contestants for one vote to go through, and you all have until January 23, 9:00PM Egyptian time!" Rodriguez said. "Thank you all always for your endless support."

On Monday night, Rodriguez was among the top three contestants in the poll.

Rodriguez, who hails from Davao City, told CNN Philippines in May 2017 that she was determined to bring home the title.

"I read about it and it's quite interesting. The competition is 73 years old. I want to be the first (to bring home the Intercontinental crown)," she said.

The Philippines has never won this title, although 2016 Miss Intercontinental-Philippines Jennifer Hammond made it to the Top 15 of the competition.
