Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) – President Benigno Aquino III received the "Most Outstanding Exemplar Award" on Friday (December 11) at the Christmas party of Bulong Pulungan, an open forum organized by different media organizations.

Nine other government executives and seven private individuals were also awarded for their achievements in good governance and economic development.

In a short message to the media, Aquino stressed the importance of continuing the reforms his administration had started.

When asked if he would consider re-election – if ever the constitution allowed it – Aquino admitted he would consider it because of unfinished businesses, but his sisters and relatives might not approve of it.

He explained he would want to inaugurate and see the completion of some ongoing transportation and infrastructure projects.

He said even though he would be stepping down, support for those whom his administration was able to help did not need to stop.

Aquino alluded to the administration's rival presidential candidates for 2016, saying some of them were too ambitious while others promised too much without presenting concrete plans.

Some candidates had false characters, were ill-equipped, or had ill intentions, he added.

After he stepped down from office, Aquino said the first thing he would do as a private citizen was to wake up late in the afternoon and read no newspapers. He said he would love to go to Boracay or Panglao for a vacation, if possible.
