Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Liberal Party’s (LP) message in closing its campaign is clear: defend democracy and unite against survey frontrunner Rodrigo Duterte's perceived iron fist style.

Administration standard bearer Manuel "Mar" Roxas II is promising a brighter future by carrying out concrete plans and continuing programs already laid out the past six years.

Komunismo!

[Translation: Vulgarity, no fear of God, zero plans, all soundbite! Communism! Iron fist! There is no longer a rule of law. That's why we are here to revive our commitment that that is not what the country deserves, but something faithful, clean, that is the straight path.]

The final campaign rally was held at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, the same place where then Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III capped his 2010 presidential bid.

Now, President Aquino is confident the party will again win the presidency.

He then questioned Duterte's promise of change.

The president says the only change under a Duterte presidency is for the worse.

[Translation: Come Monday, we are just equal, my vote will be counted as one. Alone, I cannot be assured that terror in the country will not return, I need all of you... I need you to go to your brothers and sisters who may still be confused or lost.]

In the meantime, Leni Robredo assured voters she is now fully ready to lead.

"Ngayong gabi sinasabi ko sa inyong lahat, handang-handa na rin po ako maging nanay ng ating inang bayan," she said.
