Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — An unexpected light moment happened during President Rodrigo Duterte's one on one interview with CNN Philippines today.

CNN Philippines Senior Anchor Pinky Webb asked Duterte if he could offer clarification as to when his statements should be taken seriously and when he was joking.

The question came from a netizen who posted the query online.

Duterte's answer? "Look at my eyes. Look at my rage."

 

Duterte said his responses are reflective of his mood depending on the issues he faces.

Some of the president's remarks — including his opinions about the United States, the United Nations, and critics of his war on drugs — have come under fire because some feel they are too inflammatory.

This has prompted members of Duterte's Cabinet to offer clarifications on certain issues.

Duterte has also come forward to clarify issues, one of which was his statement saying that he wants to pursue a separation of foreign policy from the Uniited States.

Despite controversies, Duterte's trust rating among Filipinos remains high, with a recent Social Weather Stations Survey saying that he got a +72 rating — considered "excellent" according to the private pollster.
