Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — President Rodrigo Duterte visited his newborn grandson, Stonefish, late Thursday night at the Davao Doctors Hospital.

Stonefish, whose full name is Marko Digong D. Carpio, is Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte's third child with husband Manases Carpio.

Sarah Duterte gave birth Thursday. She was pregnant with triplets but lost two to miscarriage.

Older siblings Mikhaila Maria, 7 years old, and Matteo Lucas, 3 years old, are nicknamed Sharky and Stingray, respectively.

President Duterte flew straight to Davao after attending a groundbreaking ceremony in Cordova, Cebu, where he said he was "exceedingly excited" to see his newborn grandson.

Stonefish is Duterte's eighth grandson.

The arrival of the President's newest grandchild fortifies his resolve "to leave a legacy of a Philippines safe and secure from drugs and heinous crimes to future generation of Filipinos," Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said.
