Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 13) — The Petron Blaze Spikers swept the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in the 2017 Philippine SuperLiga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference Thursday night to claim the crown.

The Blaze Spikers needed five sets to dispose the Cargo Movers, 26-24, 24-26, 24-26, 25-23, 15-11, at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Cherry Rondina led the way for Petron with 16 points.

It was a close contest throughout the match as both squads fought for every possession.

With their backs on the wall after the third frame, the Blaze Spikers' stepped on the gas to force a fifth set.

Ces Molina played her out heart for Petron at the crucial stretch of the match to help the Blaze Spikers end their two-year title drought in the league.

Veteran Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, who was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the All-Filipino Conference, chipped in 14 points for Petron.

"It's been two years since the last time we tasted the crown," Molina said. "We wanted it very badly. We were hungry and determined to win."

Ara Galang paced the Cargo Movers with 20 markers.
