Fire hits SM City North EDSA

The fire reached the third alarm at 8:53 p.m., and was put out at 10:37 p.m.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 16) — Around ₱50,000 worth of damage was caused by the fire that hit SM City North EDSA in Quezon City Sunday evening.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the blaze started in the fourth-floor department store stockroom. The fire reached the third alarm at 8:53 p.m., which means that at least 13 firetrucks are needed to respond.

The fire was put out at 10:37 p.m.

The BFP added that there were no reported injuries or casualties.

Quezon City District Fire Marshall Senior Supt. Manuel Manuel told CNN Philippines that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.


SM Supermalls said in a July 16 statement that clearing operations are ongoing and that normal mall operations will continue.

On Monday, SM City North EDSA issued a statement informing customers that operations were back to normal
