Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 15) — Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog, her brother Reynaldo Jr., and 11 others tested negative in a drug test conducted by the Misamis Occidental Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (MOPCLO).

"Screening test conducted on the urine samples of the arrested aforenamed living persons gave negative result to the test for the presence of methamphetamine and THC-metabolites, both dangerous drugs," the Philippine National Police (PNP) said in a report on Tuesday.

The Parojinog siblings are now detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame over charges of illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms.

The statement added that the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) led by PInsp. Geraldine Abalde coordinated with the MOPCLO to subject the suspects to drug test examination.

Sixteen people, including Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and his wife, were killed during a deadly police operation in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental on July 30.
