Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 21) — Voices of protest went beyond the streets to the digital highway on Thursday.

On the anniversary of the declaration ot martial law, people flooded social media with reminders never to forget what happened after then President Ferdinand Marcos declared it in 1972.

Using the hashtags #NeverAgain, #DayOfProtest, and #ManlabanTayo, netizens took to social media platforms to express their frustration over what they felt was disregard for a period marred by human rights abuses and rampant graft and corruption.
