Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 16) — Domestic flights for Saturday were canceled due to bad weather brought by Tropical Storm "Urduja."

In its 2 p.m. weather advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the tropical storm has made landfall in Eastern Samar, placing 12 areas across the country under signal no. 2, and 17 areas under signal no. 1.

The Philippine Coast Guard said 13,387 passengers were stranded at ports in Manila, Eastern Visayas, Bicol, Western Visayas, Southern Tagalog, and Southern Visayas, as of Saturday noon.

The storm has left three people dead in Eastern Visayas.
