Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 22) — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio lashed out at House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez on social media Thursday, over his supposed remarks against her and the President.

"Kung a****** ka sa Congress, don't bring that to Davao, leave it in Manila. Somebody should tell the President what you are doing. How dare you call me part of the opposition. Kapal ng mukha mo. You messed with the wrong girl," Duterte said on her Instagram post.

The presidential daughter was referring to a statement supposedly made by Alvarez in a speaking engagement.

"Ang sabi mo in a crowd, "President iba siya, Speaker ako, I can always impeach him!" And you call me opposition? Somebody should really tell the President about the truth,"  Duterte added.

Alvarez is the incumbent secretary general of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan, the reigning political party in which President Rodrigo Duterte is a member.

The Davao mayor had formed a new regional political party called Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) in support of the President.

Duterte said the formation of the HNP has the blessing of her father.

In a statement, however, the House Speaker denied calling Duterte a member of the opposition.

"Wala talaga akong sinabi niyan. Hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling yung kwento na yan pero wala akong sinasabi na part ng opposition . Panong magiging part of the opposition eh part ng administration yan?" Alvarez said.

[Translation: I didn't say anything like that. I don't know where that story came from

He had earlier said the formation of Duterte's new party is a "non-issue" and should be respected. Alvarez added the presidential daughter may have been fed wrong information.

Speaking before the media on Thursday, President Duterte said he does not want to meddle in the issue.
