Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 13) — President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Justice Undersecretary Antonio Kho Jr. as the new commissioner of the Commission on Elections, Special Assistant to the President Bong Go said on Friday.

Kho, who is also Duterte's fratenity brother, heads the DOJ task force tasked to investigate the pork barrel scam.

He replaces Sheriff Abas, who was named poll chairman. He will join Commissioners Luie Tito Guia, Rowena Amelia Guanzon, Al Parreño, and Socorro Balinghasay-Inting in the poll body.
