Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 13) Local governments in some parts of Luzon have announced class suspensions due to inclement weather.

Bataan Governor Abet Garcia announced suspension of classes in all levels in the province today due to rains brought about by the southwest monsoon.

Mayor Rolen Paulino also announced the suspension of classes in the city of Olongapo in all levels, both public and private, due to bad weather.

State weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in a bulletin early Friday morning that the southwest monsoon will bring rains to parts of the country.
