Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 16) —  Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada has ordered the suspension of classes and work in the city government's offices on November 20 to give way to the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

A copy of his order signed Friday said the suspension of classes and work in the city was recommended by the Manila Police District to ensure public order, safety and convenience.

Xi is visiting the country on November 20 to 21. Estrada said the highlight of the trip is Xi's visit to Malacañang palace and his laying of a wreath at the Rizal Monument in Manila.
