Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 12) — The police have captured a notorious Abu Sayyaf member involved in kidnapping and bombing, including the 2012 bus explosion in Kidapawan.

Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on Tuesday said Abdurahman Mataud Daiyung was arrested during a joint police and military operation in Ermita, Manila on January 10.

He said Daiyung was also involved in the 2001 kidnapping of 15 employees of a plantation in Basilan for which he is charged in seven separate criminal cases.
