Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 15) — In what seems to be another change of tune, President Rodrigo Duterte said he does not care if all priests are killed -- there are enough cemeteries to bury them in.

"They try to picture pag namatay sila, 'yung mga pari, I should be blamed because of my outbursts. Wala akong pakialam kung mamatay kayo ngayong lahat, maluwang pa ang ating cemetery," Duterte said in a command conference in Davao City Friday.

[Translation:They try to picture that if they die, the priests, that I should be blamed because of my outbursts. I don't care if you all die. Our cemeteries are still wide open.]

He then said, "Magdahan-dahan kayong mga Katoliko [You better be careful you Catholics]. Better shut up or else."

The President has been at odds with the Catholic Church with his series of tirades against bishops, church officials, and the religion itself.

Duterte previously warned groups out to harm members of the Catholic church to "lay off." This was in response to a text message sent by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle regarding the supposed death threats received by the clergy.

The President has denied having a hand in the threats.
