Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 15) — The National Board of Canvassers will resume counting votes Wednesday, and the Commission on Elections say the list of senators who won in the midterm polls may be out by next week.

Speaking to CNN Philippines, COMELEC Commisioner Rowena Guanzon said 96 percent of election returns have been transmitted for canvassing.

Guanzon said 100 percent transmission should happen by Friday, May 17.

"I think we can proclaim Monday, because we have to wait for everything... We will decide today, the Commission en banc will decide today if we will do a partial proclamation for the senators-elect who are really leading and the four percent won't matter anymore. It will depend on our decision today," she said.

According to the COMELEC's partial official results as of 9 p.m. Tuesday, reelectionst senator Cynthia Villar is still leading the race with 4,092,454 votes.
