Zamboanga City (CNN Philippines, April 14) — A water tanker truck and 12 other vehicles collided on Saturday morning, leaving one dead and four injured.

Police said the driver lost control of the water tanker truck and hit a dozen vehicles at Sitio Suterville, Barangay San Jose Gusu.

A 29-year-old woman, Merilou Tajonera, died on the spot after her motorbike was hit by the water tanker.

Four others suffered injuries, including two soldiers.

They were identified as Vincent Ablay Celestino, Carlo Sumalinog Deceirdo, Master Sergeant Shanard Saharan De Guzman, and Corporal Elvin Limor Laranja Jr.

Truck driver Ledomar Lactao, 28, said he was traveling downtown when the brakes malfunctioned while plying Suterville which led to the multiple collision.

Lactao is now under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 8 and will face appropriate charges.
