Matt Ganuelas-Rosser led the rookies to a victory over the sophomores

PUERTO PRINCESA (CNN Philippines) — The Rookie team defeated the Sophomore squad, 150-131, in an entertaining battle between the young guns of the league here at the Puerto Princesa Coliseum in Palawan.

Matt Ganuelas-Rosser was named MVP after tallying 32 points, four assists and two steals for the winning team. The TNT rookie's offense ran the gamut from cutbacks to dunks.

"Thank you Palawan, you guys are wonderful," said Rosser moments after the conquest. "I'm just happy to be out here."

His teammate, Kevin Alas, helped him with the scoring load. Alas dropped 20 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter, where the rookies pulled away for good.

Terrence Romeo, the newly-minted three-point shootout king, was a crowd-favorite with his offensive flair on full display.

He scattered a game-high 50 points.
