Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Philippine Azkals return to the field when they take on South East Asian neighbors Malaysia in a friendly match on March 22 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
The Philippine Azkals are currently 124th in the FIFA world rankings, while the Malaysians are ranked 161st worldwide.
The Philippines last saw action in the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup, where they failed to get past the group stages.
Malaysia also suffered the same fate, failing to advance to the knockout stage in the other group of the tournament.
The last two meetings between the Philippines and Malaysia took place in 2014 and ended in scoreless draws.
