Forward Javier Patiño was sorely missed by the Azkals in their ill-fated 2016 Suzuki Cup campaign.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — After missing out on national team duties during the 2016 Suzuki Cup, Neil Etheridge, Javier Patiño, and Daisuke Sato are set to suit up for the Philippine Azkals once again.

The Azkals are set to defend their home turf against Malaysia in an international friendly on Tuesday evening at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

Without the trio, the Azkals crashed out of the Suzuki Cup in the group stage after three consecutive semifinal appearances in the tournament.

The three players missed out due to the Suzuki Cup not falling within the FIFA international match window.

Both Phil and James Younghusband are featured in the team as well, while regulars Amani Aguinaldo, Misagh Bahadoran, and Manny Ott also earned callups.

Midfielder Stephan Schrock was not included in the lineup against Malaysia.
