Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 9) — Former collegiate star Kiefer Ravena is making the jump to the pros.

The two-time University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Most Valuable Player (MVP) announced he joined the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Draft on his Twitter account Monday.

In his five-year stint with the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, the 6-foot Ravena averaged 16.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. He was part of the school's title run in UAAP Season 74 and 75.

Ravena tried to pursue his National Basketball Association (NBA) dream after signing with the Texas Legends in the Developmental League.

In the international stage, he was the only Filipino player to win four Southeast Asian Games gold medals after the Philippines bagged its 12th straight title in the biennial meet last August.

Jeron Teng, another UAAP standout, is making himself available for this year's draft.

According to the official website of the PBA, Teng has informed the Commissioner's Office -- through his agent Danny Espiritu -- of his submission of draft papers ahead of the October 12 deadline.

The 23-year-old Teng was instrumental in De La Salle University Green Archers' championship campaigns during Seasons 76 and 79 where he was hailed as the Finals MVP.

Ravena and Teng last saw action in the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup where the country finished fifth.

Their inclusion added more depth to this year's draft class which also features Filipino-German big man Christian Standhardinger, college standouts Jason Perkins, Raymar Jose, and Davon Potts

The 2017 PBA Draft will take place at Robinsons Place Manila on Oct. 29 with Kia Picanto selecting the first overall pick.
