Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 27) — It may be good bye Taft Avenue, hello España for Aldin Ayo.

The 40-year-old basketball champion coach is leaving the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers to join the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers, according to multiple reports.

CNN Philippines has reached out to Ayo to confirm the news, but he has yet to respond as of posting time.

UST's official student publication, The Varsitarian, also reported Wednesday that "backers" of the school are in talks with Ayo. In a tweet, the paper said that Ayo's contract with the Green Archers will end on December 31.

La Salle guard Aljun Melecio in a Twitter post Wednesday wished Ayo all the best. The sophomore also clarified that he will not leave the Green Archers after posting two 'tiger emojis' and eventually deleting them.

Ayo's reported exit came after DLSU, located on Taft Ave. in Manila, gave its support to him in a statement released last week amid rumors he was moving over to UST on España Boulevard.

The Green Archers have compiled a 46-12 win-loss card under Ayo. He delivered to DLSU the UAAP title in Season 79, and led the squad to a runner-up finish this year.

La Salle lost reigning Most Valuable Player Ben Mbala last week after the Cameroonian decided to suit up for Mexico's pro league.

In Season 81, Ayo is expected to improve UST's dismal 1-13 win-loss card this year.
