(CNN Philippines) — Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant became the second youngest NBA player to hit the 20,000-point mark.

Durant reached the milestone by sinking a jump shot in the second quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers Thursday at the Oracle Arena.

LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers did it faster -- James was 28 years and 17 days when he pulled it off, while Durant is 29 years and 103 days.

The 6-foot-9 Durant joins Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and James as the players to scored 20,000 career points before the age of 30.

Durant is also the 44th player in league history to achieve the feat.

The Warriors lost the game versus the Clippers, 125-106, to suffer their ninth setback in 43 outings.

Golden State will next face the Milwaukee Bucks on January 13, while the Clippers collide with the Sacramento Kings on January 12.
