Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 13) — GlobalPort Batang Pier has signed Jeric Teng in the ongoing Philippine Cup, according to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) website.

This means that Teng will reunite with his college mentor Pido Jarencio who is the current head coach of the Batang Pier.

Teng and Jarencio were part of the UST Growling Tigers' back-to-back Finals appearance in UAAP men's seniors basketball in Season 75 and 76 -- losing both to Ateneo and La Salle, respectively.

After his college stint, Teng was selected 12th overall by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the 2013 PBA Draft.

The 6-foot-2 guard was part of the Elasto Painters' title run in the 2016 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

He was signed by the then-Mahindra Floodbuster in 2016, but saw limited minutes.

With a 3-4 win-loss card, GlobalPort is battling for a playoff spot in th all-Filipino conference.

The Batang Pier will face TNT KaTropa on February 14 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
