Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 14) — The Magnolia Hotshots fended off the NLEX Road Warriors in Game 3 of the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals, 106-99, Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Jio Jalalon exploded with a conference-high 25 points and five rebounds for the Hotshots.

The Road Warriors started the match on the right note as they built a three point edge at the end of first quarter.

But Magnolia was able to establish a 53-51 advantage heading into the halftime break.

The Hotshots continued to keep NLEX at bay in the third frame by finding the gaps in the defense.

With the Road Warriors threatening to stage a late rally, the Hotshots avoided any collapse to notch the 2-1 series lead.

Ian Sangalang contributed 24 points and seven rebounds, while Rome dela Rosa added 17 points for Magnolia.

Kiefer Ravena paced NLEX with 20 markers and five boards.

Game 4 is scheduled on March 16 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
