Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 30) — Kevin Belingon made his countrymen proud after beating two-division world champion Martin Nguyen on home soil.

Belingon scored a unanimous decision win over Nguyen to claim the ONE Championship interim bantamweight belt at the Reign of Kings event Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The 30-year-old warrior from Teak Lakay extended his winning streak to six and improved his professional record to 19 victories and five losses.

Nguyen, meanwhile, suffered his third setback in 14 outings.

 

In the co-main event of the evening, Japanese Shinya Aoki was triumphant against Shannon Wiratchai via a first round referee stoppage.
