Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 3) — It looks like Troy Rike will be donning the National University's blue and gold jersey in University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 81.

NU head coach Jamike Jarin bared that 6-foot-7 forward is part of his squad who will play this weekend.

"Troy Rike will play this Saturday," Jarin said in a press conference Monday.

This development comes days after Rike announced on his official Twitter account that he won't be able to play this season.

Rike played for four years for NCAA Division I school Wake Forest University in the U.S. which produced NBA stars like Tim Duncan and Chris Paul.

The NU Bulldogs take on the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers on September 8 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
