Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 12) — The basketball governing body of the Philippines has revealed the 12 players who will suit up for the country when they go up against Iran in the fourth window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Team Pilipinas will play against the Iranians at the Azady Gym in Tehran on Thursday.

The 12-man Gilas lineup is composed of Raymond Almazan, Beau Belga, Alex Cabagnot, Paul Dalistan Lee, JP Erram, Marcio Lassiter, Allein Maliksi, Gabe Norwood, Ian Sangalang, Christian Standhardinger, Asi Taulava and Scottie Thompson.

San Miguel's Standhardinger will be utilized as a naturalized player. While, Barangay Ginebra's Greg Slaughter was left out of the final 12 due to his ankle injury.

This will be the first game of the Philippine national team in the FIBA World Cup qualifers following the brawl against the Australia Boomers last July.

FIBA suspended 10 Filipino players plus two of its coaching staff for their involvement in the ugly incident.


Team Pilipinas will next face Qatar in Manila on September 17 behind closed doors at the Araneta Coliseum.
