Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 14) — The University Athletic Association of the Philippines has decided to postpone the men's seniors basketball matches on September 15 due to the possible effects of Typhoon Ompong.

The games between the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles and Far Eastern University Tamaraws, and Adamson University Soaring Falcons versus De La Salle University Green Archers, which were supposed to be held tomorrow at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum will be moved to a later date which has yet to be announced.

Also affected are the women's basketball games between University of Santo Tomas and La Salle, and Adamson and National University.

Typhoon Ompong is expected to make landfall in the Cagayan-Isabela area between 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on September 15, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Moderate to occasionally heavy rains may pour in Metro Manila during the weekend.
