Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 14) — Adamson University remained confident that Franz Pumaren will bring them a UAAP men's seniors basketball title after giving him a two-year contract extension.

The school announced the development on its official Twitter account Monday.

The 55-year-old tactician led the San Marcelino-based squad to the Final Four every season since he started to handle the team in 2016.

They were one win away from advancing to last year's finals, but the University of the Philippines stunned them in two games to earn a championship berth for the first time in 32 years.

Pumaren will be missing the services forward Sean Manganti and Cameroonian center Papi Sarr next season, but Jerrick Ahanmisi, Jerom Lastimosa, Simon Camacho and Jonathan Espeleta will be back in the fold.

Adamson has been searching for its first title since 1978.
