Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 15) — The Meralco Bolts have parted ways with Garvo Lanete.

The Bolts have shipped the 6-foot-2 guard to NorthPort in exchange for the Batang Pier's second round pick in the 2020 draft, according to the PBA website Tuesday.

Lanete played with Meralco for nearly two years. He was sidelined by a hand injury in the early part of last season's Commissioner's Cup, but was able to recover and play for the Bolts as they reached the Governors' Cup semifinals for the third straight year.

Meralco is looking to turn things around in the Philippine Cup, where they have been struggling for the past couple of seasons.

The Bolts will open their All-Filipino campaign against the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters on January 16 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

NorthPort, on the other hand, tackle the Blackwater Elite on the same day.
